Esther E. Manheimer

Esther joined The Van Winkle Law Firm in 2002. Her practice focuses on civil litigation specifically in the areas of land litigation and creditors’ rights. She spent her first four years after law school as an attorney for the North Carolina General Assembly serving a number of committees as committee counsel. Among those were the Senate Commerce Committee and the House Judiciary and Utilities Committees. She also served on a number of special legislative committees including Utility Deregulation and Legislative Redistricting.

Esther currently serves as the Vice Mayor of the city of Asheville.

Practice Highlights

• Represents creditors in lien priority disputes and other matters related to lending.
• Represents land owners in legal disputes stemming from encroachments, easements, boundary lines, erosion and title matters.
• Provides legal support for homeowners’ and property owners’ association boards with regard to enforcement of restrictions, collection of delinquent assessments, redrafting of covenants and by-laws.

Esther and her husband, Mark, have three children: Levi, Greyson, and Asa. In her spare time, Esther enjoys spending time with family and friends and watching professional bowling and public hearings on TV.
