ASHEVILLE, NC, August 4, 2014 – The North Carolina Bar Association has appointed Van Winkle Law Firm attorney W. James Johnson secretary of the Construction Law Section. In his new role, Johnson will ensure accountability across organizational directors and officers.

Johnson is a construction and trial lawyer who focuses his practice on construction, business and transactional matters. Johnson leads the firm’s Construction Law Group and serves clients in North and South Carolina. He is a published author in the North Carolina Construction Law Deskbook, past chair of Continuing Education with the Construction Law Section, and speaks regularly to those in the construction and construction law industry.

Johnson joined the firm in 2002 and was promoted to principal in 2008. He graduated cum laude from the University Of South Carolina School Of Law in 2000 and clerked with the Honorable James R. Barber. While attending law school, Johnson was admitted to the Order of the Wig & Robe and was a published member of the South Carolina Law Review.
