Sneed honored with Rock McClure Business Citizenship Award
July 11, 2007 — The Van
Winkle Law Firm’s Albert Sneed was recently
presented the Rock McClure Business Citizenship Award, the highest
honor given
by the Council of Independent Business Owners (CIBO).
Sneed was a founding member
of CIBO, helping organize the
council 20 years ago. In addition to setting up CIBO’s legal structure,
he
served on the board of directors for nine years, acting as president
for two.
Sneed regularly represents CIBO before county and city government and
advises
CIBO on the legal effects of proposed local and state laws.
“Through CIBO, Albert has
consistently assisted small
businesses in Western North Carolina,
nourishing the independent spirit on which our community places such a
great
value,” said CIBO President John Carroll. “He has demonstrated a keen
awareness
for the needs of the community, faithfully volunteering untold hours in
community service for CIBO and numerous organizations throughout Western North Carolina.”
CIBO serves to educate
business owners about the workings of
local government and its effect on business while also providing a
conduit for
the flow of information between business and government.
The Van Winkle Law Firm,
