Community Service:
• The Give 100 Campaign

- Van Winkle has partnered with the Asheville Art Museum to match dollar-for-dollar up to $50,000 in donations to the museum’s Literacy Through Art (LTA) program in 2007.
- LTA sends artists into classrooms throughout Western North Carolina to work with youth on projects that combine the visual and performing arts with reading and writing.
- Without LTA, many schools would be left with as little as 25 cents per child per semester for arts education.
- Part of the money raised through Give 100 will help start an LTA program in Henderson County Schools.

• Firm attorneys helped found Pisgah Legal Services, which provides high-quality, effective legal services to help low-income people meet basic needs.
• The firm’s involvement with Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministries includes sponsoring the furnishing and decorating of a room at a women’s shelter. Attorneys regularly volunteer with the organization, and

• Since 2003, the firm has sponsored Asheville’s Light Up Your Holidays fireworks display.
