A lifelong resident of Asheville, O.E. is also a talented musician, tennis player, and singer. He has been known to liven many a dull gathering with his ever present
harmonica or by tickling the ivories with familiar tunes. Other passions in life include swimming, sunfish sailing craft, motorboats and relaxing at his lake cottage.

O.E. and his wife, Lida, have three children.
