
Upon graduating with honors from the Mississippi College School of Law in 2002, Matt clerked with Justice Oliver E. Diaz, Jr., at the Mississippi Supreme Court through August 2003. Later that year, he joined the firm of Kitchens and Ellis and practiced with his father, Jim Kitchens, and his two brothers, Dan and John. Here, he handled a variety of civil and criminal defense matters, including products liability, personal injury, consumer rights and other complex litigation matters, as well as numerous appeals to the appellate courts of Mississippi and the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals.
