Adinna joined The Van Winkle Law Firm in 2012 from Ropes & Gray in Boston, M.A. In addition to North Carolina, Adinna is licensed to practice law in Massachusetts and New York. Her practice focuses on privacy & information security, intellectual property law and business transactions. She is also a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). Her practice involves advising a wide range of companies, investors and institutions in a variety of transactions involving intellectual property, including technology licensing, joint ventures and other strategic commercial agreements as well as the creation and management of intellectual property, day-to-day commercial and corporate matters and privacy and data security matters, including the design and implementation of global privacy and data security programs, privacy issues related to marketing and social media initiatives and notice issues following data security breaches. - Represented one of the largest employment websites in the world in connection with various commercial, Intellectual Property and Privacy & Information Security matters.
- Represented an international fashion house in connection with various Privacy & Information Security matters.
- Advised underwriters regarding intellectual property as well as Privacy and Information Security matters related to the initial public offering of Zynga Inc.
- Counseled various entities of a multinational electronic product manufacturing conglomerate in responding to criminal cyber-attacks on certain of the conglomerate’s computer networks discovered in spring of 2011 and advised on privacy and data security compliance matters.
- Advised a Tennessee based publicly owned retailer of branded footwear on how to address its various legal obligations and exposures resulting from a substantial data security breach that the company discovered in late 2010.

Adinna was raised in Asheville, N.C. and returned to the area after a decade away in Ithaca, N.Y., Napa Valley, C.A. and Boston, M.A. Her husband is a personal trainer and the couple enjoy trail running, weight lifting, doing yoga, playing the piano (Adinna) and guitar (Adam), gardening and spending time with their dog and two cats.
