B.J. Kilgore is a member of the Van Winkle Law Firm’s Trusts &
Estates practice group. He focuses his practice on probate law, trust
and estate planning, estate administration, and related matters on appeal.
B.J. works with clients to determine their goals and develops a customized
plan to meet their needs.
Prior to joining the firm, B.J. practiced at a small firm in Raleigh, North
Carolina. During law school, B.J. worked for several prominent firms in
the Raleigh area, the North Carolina Department of Justice, and served
as a clerk on the North Carolina Court of Appeals for the Honorable Cheri Beasley.

B.J. is a native of Western North Carolina, having grown up in Banner Elk,
N.C. After spending the last eight years in Raleigh, he is excited to
be back in the mountains. When he is not working, B.J. enjoys spending
time with his wife Jackie, and daughter, Hollis. In his free time, B.J.
enjoys playing sports (particularly basketball, soccer and tennis), exploring
the numerous outdoor activities Asheville has to offer, traveling, and
learning about history. B.J. is an avid sports fan and particularly follows
college football and college basketball.
